Mike Moran - The Wellness Business

One man's experience with MLM Networking

 

Wellness - product or state of being? Say you have decided to try and earn an income from the internet, you don't want to start from scratch and you would prefer not to be working on your own. What do you look for? You must first establish which are the real honest propositions and those that are scams. A company that requires product to be sold before any payment is made will generally be a genuine business. If you are promised payment without stock being sold, then it will usually be a scam, steer clear of that.

What kind of business should you go for?

Should you go for something that you know about, perhaps along the lines of your job, or something entirely different?

When I first started I tried all the wrong things and wasted a lot of time and money in doing so! The one really bad one that comes to mind is Six Figure Income. They had many different avenues, none of which had any real products, only Electronic Books etc., also some ideas about increasing earnings via property speculation. Another is EMPOWERISM, this is a money matrix. To remain in the matrix you pay monthly and they give you leads, I only spent $100, the matrix turned very quickly, till I joined, a rotation going from a few weeks to - at the last time I looked - 28 months.

Finally I decided that as I was getting older, the best kind of business for me would be a Wellness one, not only would I earn extra money, but the products would help keep me healthy and fit. I started with Tahitian Noni International, a very good company who looked after their Distributors and their flagship product, Tahitian Noni® Juice,which was very good and beneficial.

After a few years, the Company changed, they made it more difficult to earn money early and they increased the price of the products, which I thought were already pretty expensive. No complaints - I certainly broke even with them.

I started looking at other Wellness Companies and came to Mannatech, a company that has unique products at the front of a new branch of Science and Nutrition, based on Glyconutrients. These are sugars that the body needs for the human cells to communicate; this means that the body is able to maintain optimum health and fitness. These wellness products have ingredients which may have anti-ageing properties.

The company provides training, conferences etc., and also pays very well and as you progress in the business, more payment methods come into being. Success is measured by the amount of income you earn.

Cost? Start-up costs vary to suit most people's pockets, from a few pounds to the top level (which you need to be at in order to get maximum profits). The top level payment is for an All Star Pack and that is £677.75, which has to be done in two stages under UK law. Generally you work up, step by step. Each step buys product which is worth more than your cash input so by the time you need to upgrade, the income and bonuses will cover the cost.

The company provides me with a web-site with full online shop, and trading in all the countries where the business is registered. My profit comes from direct sales, a small percentage of sales from my 'down links' plus some bonus payments. I generate my own 'down-links' - these are the people on the levels below mine in the sales and supply chain. This really is what my wellness networking is all about because my long term income is based on how successful my networking and downlinks perform.

How do you promote your business and drive people to your web-site?

You can get a “Lead Capture Page” and advertise it in Google Adwords; this is a pay-per-click service, which means that every time somebody opens your ad, it costs you money.You must set limits on how much you are prepared to pay per click, also how much you wish to pay daily. This can become expensive.

Google adwords have another system, which is called AdSense - you can see an example on the left. This system puts other adverts on to your advert and you get paid for allowing that to happen.Many people write their own blogs and talk about their business in them.

Others join forums and offer advice when the MLR/Networking topic is raised. All use the link to their web-site as a signature in E-mails and in forums where this is allowed.

Then there are those who walk the streets and canvass on behalf their company, handing out leaflets, cards, CDs and DVDs about their business. Networking - the actual Face-to-Face method - is the quickest way to build a business and Women are best at this. So much so in fact that there are more Women Millionaires created in MLM, than men.

How are you doing? I put in about two hours work a day. I am well on track, better than break even. I think I am doing as well as expected but I intend to do better!
