Meet our founder

This was the About Me page written by the founder of income-in-laterlife.com. It tells the story of how the site itself came to be, so I thought I would leave it on site.

Just call me Bob........... I am 72, married for the last 49 years to a very understanding lady called Beryl. Together we have brought up three children, and now have four grandchildren. We have been to many places, done some crazy things together, and have certainly had our fair share of financial ups and downs.

What qualifies me to launch a web-site offering income advice to other people? I guess it's the broad nature of my experiences which means that I see tomorrow as likely to be better than today - there is always something new around the corner!

My life-experience includes dispensing medicine for a couple of years, then regular service in the Royal Air Force. After demob I went into journalism as a press photographer - first local papers then a spell with a news agency before branching out on my own as a photojournalist with work published in many national with Sir Stirling Moss and international newspapers and magazines.

Bob goes on to say - From journalism, a career shift (a story for another time) and I became a professional yacht delivery skipper. Now, after 46 Atlantic crossings under sail - two of them single-handed in 21 foot sailboats - half a million sea miles including two around the world races in 80 foot boats, I have rediscovered a taste for sleeping in my own bed..........

Oh yes, and when times got hard - and they sometimes did - I tried my hand as an estate agent, insurance broker, painter and decorator and a few other jobs which left me with nothing but admiration for the people who have to do them full time.

t's been a fun life but never with big money, certainly not sufficient to set aside for pensions or whatever. So, I now work at home with an Internet business helping supplement my own State pension, the web-host I use is a company called "Site Build It (SBI), you will hear a lot about them throughout this whole website, as they are a quite extra-ordinary company, who have a fabulous website building and customer support system, that even me at 72 years of age can master.......which means if I CAN YOU CAN!!.
