Government Auctions Online
and how you can make money from them

If you have read the how to sell on eBay page, you may have see mention of Government auctions online. So what are they?

First and foremost they are a great place to visit to find surplus or seized goods to buy for resale on eBay.

They differ from the other top online auction sites in that the only sellers are the various government departments or their appointed intermediaries. Some auctions will take place in auction houses with the catalog being shown online beforehand, giving you a chance to see what is on offer.

If you are investigating ways of earning money on the Internet then they offer a fabulous opportunity. You can find anything and everything for sale here, from computers to digital cameras or even the odd military vehicle!

Do your research

Before you dive in and start spending, take the time to do some research first. Find out what the items tend to sell at on eBay, to ensure that you don't end up spending more than that on your purchases. After all the plan is to make a profit!

A "lot" may consist of multiples of the same item, such as 10 desk fans or 5 bottles of perfume. This gives you the opportunity of splitting the goods into individual lots for resale..

Many government or police departments will require that you pick up your purchased items in person. Therefore you will want to only bid on items held locally, otherwise you will spend a fortune on fuel!

You, of course, will have to mail the goods to your successful bidders, so keep this in mind if you are thinking of purchasing heavy items.
